Roadmap

The Bitomni was started in June 2022. Initially conceived as an asset management protocol focusing on on-chain funds, Bitomni has strategically pivoted towards chain abstraction to leverage the growing opportunities within the Web3 space. The work completed prior to this strategic pivot has laid a solid foundation, enriching our capabilities and understanding, thereby adding intrinsic value to our current focus.

The Bitomni roadmap is a strategic blueprint that outlines our journey from inception to the present and extends into our future aspirations. This chapter provides a comprehensive overview of the key milestones achieved thus far and lays out the forward-looking goals that will drive the continued evolution and expansion of the Bitomni ecosystem.

August 2022 - Crypto Index Methodology

We released a comprehensive methodology for crypto index construction, the Crypto Asset Index Methodology (CAIM), which has been meticulously crafted through an exhaustive research process. This provided a robust, empirically validated framework for benchmarking and navigating the complex landscape of crypto asset management.

December 2022 - On-chain Fund Methodology

Introduced a rigorously developed methodology for on-chain funds as an asset management vehicle underpinned by comprehensive research. This new approach paves the way for a reliable and transparent mechanism to navigate the complexities of on-chain investment, thus delivering a more accessible and trustworthy crypto-investment vehicle.

April 2023 - CICS V0

We released the first version of the Crypto Industry Classification Standard (CICS), a comprehensive and standardized classification scheme serving as the bedrock of the Bitomni ecosystem. It is designed to provide logical, sector-based categorizations for various crypto assets, enabling more structured and informed investment decisions within the crypto universe.

June 2023 - Bitomni Simulator V0 Beta

Released the first Beta of Bitomni Simulator, a centralized application offering basic simulation features of CICS interaction and crypto index creation & management.

August 2023 - Bitomni Simulator V1 Beta

Unveil Simulator V1 Beta, marking another milestone in our journey, offering an environment for users to simulate and test their on-chain fund investments.

September 2023 - User Interaction Event

We initiated a round of user interaction with the simulator.

September 2023 - DFINITY Dev Grant Award No.1

We were awarded the developer grant by the DFINITY Foundation.

October 2023 - Bitomni Simulator V2 Beta

The V2 Beta was released. This advanced iteration, built upon valuable user feedback from the previous version, offers enhanced features and functionality.

October 2023 - Community Growth and Partnership

Expanded the Bitomni community and forged strategic partnerships. With our cutting-edge technology and unique value proposition, we attracted a broader demographic of users and invited collaborative partnerships with other key players in the crypto ecosystem.

December 2023 - BTCFi

Introduced the BTCFi feature on the Simulator: BRC protocol indices are now live.

March 2024 - DFINITY Dev Grant No.1 Completion

We completed the development tasks of our first developer grant from the DFINITY Foundation.

April 2024 - BECS V0

The launch of BECS V0 is a pivotal moment in our project roadmap. It introduces the first standardized classification of the Bitcoin ecosystem. Developed through extensive collaboration with industry experts, BECS V0 categorizes the Bitcoin ecosystem's components into clear segments. This initial release is a foundational tool for anyone navigating the Bitcoin space, offering a structured framework for future development and innovation.

June 2024 - DFINITY Dev Grant Award No.2

We were awarded the second developer grant by the DFINITY Foundation to build the Bitcoin & ICP omnichain bridge.

June 2024 - BitoBridge Testnet

Launches the testnet for BitoBridge, the first decentralized, trust-minimized, two-way pegged Bitcoin omnichain bridge. This phase will allow us to thoroughly test its functionality and security before the mainnet release.

July 2024 - NFT Airdrop Campaign

Starts an NFT airdrop campaign to incentivize community engagement and promote the launch of BitoBridge. This campaign will feature two phases: the Warm-up Phase, which will reward our early supporters and active promoters with specially designed NFTs, and the BitoBridge Tryout Phase, which will gather user feedback on the new bridge’s functionality and user experience.

October 2024 - DFINITY Dev Grant No.2 Completion

Completes the development tasks for our second developer grant from the DFINITY Foundation, which is related to BitoBridge.

December 2024 - BitoBridge Mainnet

Launches BitoBridge's mainnet. This launch marks a critical step towards enabling seamless Bitcoin transactions across multiple blockchain ecosystems, enhancing Bitcoin’s utility in the DeFi space, and boosting the development of BTCFi.

March 2025 - BitoIndexer Development

Initiates the development of BitoIndexer.

June 2025 - Interoperability Module Completion

Enables seamless cross-chain communication and transactions, including Bitcoin and Ethereum, using ICP’s cryptography by June 2025, laying the groundwork for interoperability.

September 2025 - Universal Account Module Completion

By September 2025, simplifies managing multiple blockchain accounts, like Bitcoin, via one ICP identity with a unified interface and secure decentralized identifiers.

December 2025 - AI Module Completion

Integrates AI and predictive analytics by December 2025 to optimize cross-chain operations, boosting transaction efficiency, security, and performance.

Q1 2026 - Protocol Testnet

Launches the Testnet in Q1 2026 to test cross-chain interactions, universal accounts, and AI optimizations. Community feedback will refine the protocol for Mainnet readiness.
